No, not the Scandi television drama, but a cafe in Winchester! The Bridge is tucked right at the bottom of town, past King Alfred’s statue on Bridge Street.
With only a few tables, and the works of local artists for sale on the walls, The Bridge is a lovely place to stop for a quick pick-me-up. It’s also a patisserie, and the tarts they bake look incredible. I’ve had lunch there a few times, and their paninis are great too.
Just coffee on this occasion, though (and a Hot Choc for Chris), which was beautiful They serve Mozzo here, which is a local coffee firm based in Southampton. Since I worked at a pub that served Mozzo, I’ve really liked it. There’s something about the blend which is just so smooth and somehow not at all bitter- beautiful.
If you’re ever in Winchester, and fancy somewhere for a bite to eat and a good coffee (away from the main drag of the high street), then perhaps somewhere to give a try?
