Something Different

Here’s something new for the blog- films. A blogger I discovered as part of Blog Every Day in May, Janey regularly induces envy by publishing posts about films she’s seen regularly and I’m always  jealous of people who’ve seen every film going and come across as real film buffs. As much as I enjoy a good film, I’ve never been obsessive, or strived to see the real classics.

Well my friends, that may be about to change. I’ve been speaking about this with the boy for a while, and we’re finally going to do it- make our way through the Empire Top 100. Eek, that’s intimidating! The full list is now published as a new page on the blog here, and obviously I’ll keep you all updated as to our progress in due course, so keep an eye out!

This may not see like much of a challenge, but considering I’m totally useless when it comes to films, and have only seen 6 of the hundred, it is a bit of a tall order. We’ve had much debate over which Top 100 to do (this or IMDB) but we decided to go with Empire. We’re also not planning to run through the line up in any particular order or timescale, just to make our way through the whole 100 in due course, starting with the ones we actually own.

This post represents Day 10- ’Something Different’ of Blog Every Day in November #BEDN with Rosalilium

  1. I had to count. 18/100 is how many I have seen. I’m interested to know which 6 yours were. I also have a few of those on DVD so if you’re looking for any message me and I shall bring them round. ‘Some like it hot’ has to be one of my favourites and I think it deserves to rank above ‘The Apartment’. Great actor though!

    • Ooh, I’ve just done a recount and I have seen 2 more than I thought- 8/100! Rather embarassingly, mine are all 3 LOTR, Toy Story, Raiders of the Lost Ark (AMAZING), Casino Royale, The Matrix and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Film borrowing sounds a great plan- thanks x

      • I left a message on your 100 link to say which ones I had. I also own the LOTR, and I don’t find it embarrassing at all 🙂 I haven’t seen the Raiders, Casino or Eternal Sunshine (perhaps).
