Cream Tea at The Colour Factory

As mentioned briefly in my Bank Holiday weekend series, the boy and I spent bank holiday Monday afternoon at The Colour Factory in Winchester for afternoon tea. It was a gorgeous mixture of chintzy vintage china, blossom, embroidered tablecloths and tranquility. The Colour Factory is a bit of a hidden Winchester gem, tucked away in a brick bungalow next to the leisure centre. I have my Mum to thank for this discovery, they have 4 working artists with studios based at TCF, along with a lovely little garden and ‘The Lightbox’ studio where they run all sorts of crafty delights and a little gallery/shop. Onto the tea:

The lovely ladies based at TCF are: Rachael Alexander – visual artist; Linda Miller – machine embroidery; Jill Maguire – glass and ceramics; Jenny Muncaster – visual artist and Kate Talbot –  visual artist. Scattered about the place on the day were these beautiful ceramic cupcake trinket boxes created by Jill Maguire.
